JáTtik Clark and the CCC Wind Ensemble will be performing Jones’s Concerto for Tuba and Wind Ensemble under the formidable baton of RCBQ’s Lars Campbell. Join RCBQ as we present works by female composers in honor of women’s history month. The Music Performance Trust Fund is vital, funding this free event for our community. We’ll perform works by Jennifer Higdon, Dana Reason, Nicole Buetti, Joyce Solomon Moorman, and more!

Cascadia Composers and RCBQ partner in this concert of new works for Brass Quintet. Cascadia’s members present 12 new works for brass, accompanied by voice and percussion in select works. Sarah Beaty, soprano, joins in a work for brass trio and voice, and Wanyue Ye joins on vibraphone and snare drum.

RCBQ joins an all-star cast of Portland area musicians celebrating the life and music of Tomas Svoboda. RCBQ presented the Svoboda Brass Quintet on its premier CD, and we’ll present two movements with this eclectic concert of Svoboda works.

Join us for our winter recital and a new program of music to share. RCBQ is thrilled to be joined by Oregon Symphony percussionist Sergio Carreño for exciting and varied music for brass quintet plus percussion. We’re playing music by New York trumpeters David Sanford and Dave Ballou, tango music from Astor Piazzolla, and custom arrangements of music by Radiohead, live in an intimate space and environment. This is a recital you can’t miss!

Join RCBQ at the Richmond Bar for a pop up holiday concert on the patio. The patio is covered and has heaters, and the libations will also help fight the chilly weather! Join RCBQ for an MPTF-sponsored free concert in Tanner Springs Park in Portland! We’ll present a free concert featuring music by local composers Nicole Buetti and Don Appert, as well as colorful music from West Side Story and from Astor Piazolla’s opera, Maria de Buenos Aires. Join us!

Join RCBQ in its return to the Friends of the Canby Public Library series by popular demand! Performing in Wait Park in downtown Canby, and aligning with the Canby Thursday Night Market, join the quintet as we perform music from both local and international composers, featuring a sneak preview of apiece that will feature on our winter recital series, Suite from Maria de Buenos Aires, by Astor Piazzolla.

Gate opens at 4pm for picnics in the meadows and for garden strolls to discover special sound installations. The Rose City Brass Quintet set begins at 5 pm followed by repeating musical performances at different locations throughout the garden so that concert guests may experience the music at each of the locations in any order they choose.

The program will include works of Cascadia Composers: Adrienne Albert, William Ashworth, Daria Baiocchi, David S. Bernstein, John G. Bilotta, Antonio Celaya, Ted Clifford, Ken Davies, David Jones, Lisa Ann Marsh, Jan Mittelstaedt, Carolyn Quick, Christina Rusnak, Greg A Steinke, Tomas Svoboda, and Linda Woody.

Featured musicians include the Rose City Brass Quintet (Logan Thane Brown, Lars Campbell, JáTtik Clark, Joseph Klause, and Daniel Partridge), Dunja Jennings Marcum (clarinet), Daniel Partridge (horn), and Brett EE Paschal, Wanyue Ye, and Davi Martinelli de Lira (percussion).

Electronic sound installation created by Daniel Brugh, Mei-ling Lee, Timothy Arliss O’Brien, Jennifer Wright, and Nicholas Yandell. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and may pack in a picnic to enjoy on the garden grounds. Alcoholic beverages may not be brought onto the grounds, but beer and wine will be sold on-site.

Tickets are $25 for general admission, $15 for seniors and working artists, $10 for students, free for children under 12. Rose City Brass Quintet presents an afternoon of Nordic brass compositions performed outdoors at Nordic Northwest. RCBQ has curated a program featuring music from each Nordic country, featuring works by composers Axel Jorgensen, Anders Hillborg, Tomi Räisänen, and more. Experience the different flavors of each country's particular influence on the brass repertoire in a culture where brass quintet is embraced and cultivated as a native genre.

Doors open at 2pm; there we will be a no host bar serving select Oregon wines and beers along with non-alcoholic beverages. Broder Söder provides a select food menu.

We will be performing a one-hour set of music including music from Bernstein’s West Side Story and original works by some of our favorite composers from our Fall and Winter livestream concerts!
